Algae ID??

This algae is only growing on my frag plugs
Not on my aquascape or sand at all
It has pretty much killed 3 zoa frags so I want to figure it out before it kills more

It’s bryopsis. Unlike Gha, this has roots and unless you remove roots. It will keep coming back. Take the frag out and place in a container of tank water and scrape off with edge of a paring knife . Assure all roots are gone

I would give the plug a 10 minute bath in a 10% solution of 3% peroxide

No peroxide bath - Eliminate the roots. Peroxide squirt works with GHA

Question
How did you treat your bryopsis?
Iv heard people treating their tank and it effecting all the coral
Did you spot treat your pieces outside of the tank and then rinse and put everything back into the tank?

Luckily I didn't have to treat my display. I only had it in the frag tank. I have a mix of sps, LPS, and soft corals that all were unaffected. I also had a six line that was fine. I dosed the whole tank. I believe I had to do it a couple of times. It should turn white and start to die off.
