I have had a lot of what I think to be as white algae growth show up. Can someone help me identify it and get rid of it. My water parameters are as follows: pH: 8.2, amonia: 0, nitrite: 0, nitrate: 25, calcium: 420, alk: 4, phosphate: 0, salinity: 1.022, magnesium: 1012.5. I've been dosing my tank daily with nitrate and phosphate reducer. I have 75 gallon tank plus 40 gallon refugium/skimmer. 2 clowns, 2 leopard wrasse, copper banded butterflyfish, foxface, dragon goby, scooter dragonet, scarlet shrimp, sally Lightfoot crab, anemone crab, turbo snails, 3 anemones, a few corals, 50 lbs live rock

Never seen or heard of white algae before. Your alk and mag levels are low. Alk should be 8-10 mag 1400. White stuff has to be something else can't really tell by photos.

Here is another pic...hopefully better. It is in the middle. White/beige...looks kinda furry.

Sorry I could not get the picture to upload from my phone...here it is.

I wish I could tell you what it is. I still don't know. I had it along with that tough lime green algae I see in your photo. I do know that I had it when I had low alkalinity and high Calcium. Alkalinity at 4 is a nightmare to an SPS tank and would probably cause RTN to every coral in a tank. (You should raise you alkalinity and magnesium.) Anyway I got my alkalinity up and it went away along with that lime green algae that's like Cyano but much tougher. I should say that I was using Kent salt at the time and changed at the same time as I raised my alkalinity. So, it could have been from the salt or from the high calcium and low alkalinity that the salt caused. You wouldn't happen to using Kent salt?

No, I've heard bad stories about Kent not mixing to specs to often.

I am using H2Ocean Pro + salt. All i know is it accumulates like algae but if I use turkey baster it blows off like detritus.

no i mix my salt over night to the temp of the tank and use a filter media to siphon the water into the tank.

Try another batch of the Sat Mix, possibility that you got a bad batch.
