Algae identity help

You can see what looks like green turf algae around that "bare patch" that's just off-center in the photo....so I think it's something slimy like chrysophytes growing on turf algae. Something not very pretty! :D

(spot treat with peroxide, scrub and siphon to keep it away from any corals while you wait on the microscope to arrive. $10 and up will do it.)

Nice! I didn't notice the turf algae underneath. Definitely chrysos with turf algae. The chrysos is easy to remove but the die off causes cyano. The latter is more involved.

Good thought friends. I’ve spent too many hours trying to figure it out. Diesel I’m not using the t5’s yet because no sps in this tank yet

Thanks I ordered a microscope today. I’m removing the rock with it on to reduce any die off in tank and will scrub outside rinse with saltwater and put back it tank. Any recommendations on identifying algae with microscope?
