Is thia green algae or beginning of coraline?? I also have red dots on the aquarium glass that need to be scrubbed hard to come off! Tank is about 3 months old. All the rocks were dry! I did add coraline algae spores.

It could be the start of coralline .
do you have pictures of the red dots ?
Do they come off with a scrubber or do you need to scrape them with a razor ?

I just posted in another similar thread .
Coraline is that weird thing .
We all want it from the start but once we finally get it . We can’t stop where it grows or how fast it grows .
it will eventually become a huge pain in the butt . Generally covering black plastics first ( such as wave makers and over flows ) back glass where we neglect scrubbing ,
And later every other surface
The last picture .
it was a large white rock I added less than a year ago.

I don’t scrape the back

and the sides …. The left side is ok and easy enough to do other than being 27” deep ( my short arms have trouble reaching

the right side is protected by Dracula the blood thirsty clownfish

My wife likes the blue paint I painted on the back. So I try to keep her happy but only do it a few times a year. It is thick with coraline.
The left is against a wall, I don't touch it. Front and right I scrape for viewing. I just need to do it more often.

Picture of the red dots on the back wall! And no, they need to be scraped off. Scrubber doesnt really work.
