Hello I have this tank up and running for about 2 years, right now I am having an issue with a carpet type algae, it grows on all the rocks, glass, and structures and on the sand and burrowing into the sand. The one thing I wanted on this tank was 0% movement of my sand. So every three days I blow off everything, then the algae floats to the top and I suck it out with a turkey baster. I have tried just about every type of algae killer out there, nothing has worked
My tank has 6 fish, 2 clowns, 3 cardinals, dottyback. this tank is not heavily fed. I am running GFO, it started with a 1 finger wide, and now I am at 3 fingers wide in a small reactor, I checked for PO4 and of course, it came up 0%.
This algae will live in a container for a week fresh or saltwater and even small doses of bleach. It is a though algae.
Has anyone experienced this type of algae and maybe know the name of it, it is green with bubbles lies like carpet or a mat.?
Thanks in advance
