I'm pretty sure it's due to light. But it's all over my sand and my glass nothing can eat it fast enough it's been cleared off one of my rocks other then that I go to work and it's worst and that's just from the light being on less then 6 hours. My schedule is 2 T5 one atinic and 10k from 3-12 then atinic only 12-7 then no light 7-3 then resets and whenever the T5 are on the algae growth is very noticeable

I want it gone

I am pretty sure that what you are experiencing is Diatoms. Judging by your white rock, your tank is fairly new. Have no fear or Frustration, this is a normal "ugly stage" of reef tanks and it will pass with time.

A+^^^^

A+ +1 ^^^^

Its not the light being bad, its all light feeds photosynthesis. Itll pass.
You can use a little GFO or purigen it may help clear it up a bit quicker. I wouldn't use to much too fast as you may strip the po4 (the coral need) to quickly from the water column.

Oh okay. Anything besides chemicals to help? And if I use chemicals should I scrub my tank to get it off the glass

^ beef up your CUC and do nothing. You can get a cleaner magnet to clean the glass. You don't want to get into the habit of adding stuff to battle natural biological processes.

1 fighting conch will smash the diatoms in a week or two the ole natural way.

Is there any other way? I absolutely LOVE inverts hermit crab lobsters etc. I actually was gonna get a royal purple lobster today. And I'm pretty confident that there is not anywhere in minnesota that has a fighting conch. Even tho I would love it. Sounds amazing just looked it up

I wanna fight it naturally

Purigen does a great job.. for whatever reason I can't view the images but for detritus, cerith snails and nerite snails will help clean a bit
