Looks just like normal micro algae to me. No worrys, coralline can cover quickly.

need to remove those by excision and precision scraping using a knife tip those spiked algae can get invasive

Until coralline seats, a few communities w give a try

Take out the rocks, score that surface free of the spiky algae and rinse off any cleaned areas with peroxide and put the rock back in, treat it orthodontically to win

I'm so glad! We have a thread on dental attack mode :)

If you would zip me back your sustained after shots we would like to link them both here and another similar thread at nano-reef.com

My reef tank is permanently algae free because seven yrs ago I forcefully cut it out of my tank with surgical tools, topically burned the area a few times, and hand guided it all out. Since my rock is purple coralline (helps in exclusion and space control) and no more corals added, the import factor is controlled. Nutrients didn't start your problem, lack of space competition in a new tank and direct import did. Treated like plaque we can win easy :)
