Algae issue - Too much light ?

I should have asked for a picture earlier. That snotty stuff with the bubbles are dinoflagellates not algae.

I don't know if thats good or bad.. BUT I did slowly work the MP10 up to 50% power on reef crest setting. It was at 35% and using the foam on outside probably cut down on that flow as well.
I have always blown off the rocks with a turkey baster and lately have noticed I can kick up a ton of white flakes or something off the rocks. LOTS each time. Maybe that was indeed helping fuel the growth. Now the MP10 is noticeably keeping a lot of that stirred around and going into return.
Tomorrow I plan to do my water change as well as renew the media in rack top to bottom. Thanks for all the replies. R2R is very helpful.

That's a great article thanks - just wondering where I go from here . There isn't the snotty issue , just a wavy grass like plant. I'm still hoping the Turbos will get it. I have flow moved up to 50% from 35% and do notice a big difference in how that stuff is moving around. Also blasting with baster everyday to keep moving anything that settles on rock stirred up and ending in floss -- anything else I should try ?

Yes I am using LED. As a "Noob" I'm not ashamed to say I don't totally follow you concerning turning down the UV -

I did just change MP10 from 35% reef crest to 45% Tidal.
Might try 50% but didn't want sand to blow ?
I think hes saying cut down the white spectrum
I run my whites at 15% and my blues at 100%

If your looking for livestock to tear that algae up, a seahare will do it, but be prepared to give him away when hes done. They will starve when the cleanup is done.

well im running LED also its a 48 inch orbit LED and also my buddy gave me some 2 Chinese **** boxes i got one on the sump and one on top im not sure if its a good setup, im new to this hobby

Ok so I have a question - do Dino's blast off the rock with a turkey baster ? Because mine don't. They just blow around in the force of the water, but stay tightly affixed to the rock. I will say it appears my Turbo snails don't like it, as there is a feast waiting and they don't touch it.
Lastly our Scarlet Skunk cleaner shrimp - peroxide dosing, or Dino-X dosing will or will not hurt him ?
As always, thank you for your thoughts and or experiences.

The first picture I posted in this thread is a very true representation of what this looks like, the second not so much as it gives a more snotty bubble infested look to it. Some small areas pearl in the afternoon a little but that's all.

An update to this thread - the problem has cleared up completely. I mean GONE... I only kicked the flow up higher on my MP10. And waited it out. Maybe just a new tank syndrome associated problem.. ? Anyway it's gone.
