so I've been recently noticing that I've been having an excessive amount of brown algae (back wall and front glass), I have to scrape brown dust off my front glass nearly daily. I can only think of a few things that could be causing this as it's just now starting to happen over the past 2 maybe 3 weeks, in that time these are the large changes I've made to the tank. I upgraded my light to the kessil ap700 from the current USA orbit marine pro. (55gallon tank) I installed 2 mp40's. (I know it's not a current issue I can see the flow going over the algae on the back wall) I got 2 new fish (anthias). I've been feeding my tank Frozen mysis cubes steadily instead of pellets for the last couple of weeks (could it be catching up now?). Also I had just changed for my gfo out so maybe it's possible the previous stuff just wasn't working anymore. My lights run for 12 hours from 10:30-10:30 (I'm gonna start cutting back on that) also does my light colors effect my algae growth? Should I be running predominantly blue over white lighting? I run my highest intensity 55% from 2-3, and it's a full white spectrum at that time. Would running bluer over whiter reduce algae possibly?

I have the same problem with my tank I changed the position of the tank to see if it made a difference to the algae growth because it was to close to the window, but it create much of a difference. So its probably fluctuating nitrate levels or high phosphates present in the aquarium in which case you should
test your water parameters, salinity and water tempreture.
