IMG_3178.JPG IMG_3181.JPG Hi Guy,

Can anyone tell me if this is algae issue.. tank is 150 gallon with 40g breeder as a sump, and has been up for 6 months. I used I/O salt, going to be changing to I/O reef crystals next water change. Water is 79 degrees , salinity 1.024. I recently added the galaxyhydro 300 watt led x 2... blues are on for 10hrs per day and whites for 8 hrs. I would have the blues come on first for an hour and they would be last to go off (1hr). I current do no have my reef octopus xp2000 slimmer running bc my sump isn't baffled and it does not dial in properly due to evaporation. I do only have a few small damsels and 2 green chromis. I have included a picture of the "algae" and my results from my water testing ...

Is this just part of my cycling or a late bloom of some sort?

Looks like a normal algae cycle as the tank is aging. Nothing to be too concerned about. If you have no corals, keep lights off while cycling and less algae will appear. Or, put on a 3 hour cycle at most. Should see it reduce.

Great ! No corals yet , hopefully soon enough!
