Does anyone have a recommendation on what to use to clear up Dino algae?? I have been doing some research and some recommend using hydrogen peroxide. I have mostly sps and i have the algae under control at the moment but i have to keep my phosphates extremely low around 0 which is starting to burn some of my sps. The moment i let the phosphates rise up to .02 the dino's explode. Does hydrogen peroxide work and will it affect my sps? How much should i dose? I have a 180 gallon display, 45 gallon frag tank and a 90 gallon sump. I have chato in the sump, gfo, protein skimmer and carbon. Also i have some ciano growing in the sump and that must go also.

Water parameters:
ALK - 8.0
CAL - 420
MAG - 1380
NO3 - 0.5PPM
PO4 - 0 - .01

Dino love silica besides phosphates. The way I found to keep them under control is to run silca buster resin in my DI cartrage, clean my filter socks every other day, and clean my skimmer cup every day to starve them out.

Welcome to R2R. I moved the thread to the algae forum in hopes of additional assistance.
