I don't know about you guys but I really don't do too much about my algae unless I notice it's going a bit rabid , mostly I just let it hang out where ever it pops up unless it's crowding a coral.

Me too honestly as long as the algae doesn't come near my corals and doesn't start building upon them then I let it stay because it really helps my tank go along

Yeah I never really get the guys who nuke everything as soon as something pops up , the only thing I take immediate action on is aptasia since I've seen first hand how that gets out of control fast.

At least with the mulm and algae it feeds the tank.

I have a few spots of GHA in and on my overflow box, on my powerheads and some growing on spirorbis worms on my back glass. I never have any GHA on my rocks or corals, so I just leave them alone. Every week I clean one of the algae patches and let the others grow.

Yeah when I noticed it on my filter too I was thinking on how to build a turf scrubber for a 5 g

Yep. That's how I roll too for the most part.

Well here's the tank I have quite a bit of algae but my turbo and margarita have done well at keeping most of it down.

Though I don't know what's going on with my snake polyps as of late , one of them has a brown scuzz on it's too.

Not to hijack the thread. I don’t have any problems with algae as I used fluxrx upgraded my CUC including urchins and m fine. What I cannot seem to grow is coralline on my glass. I need to keep my back glass clean or else it will become coated with the green/brown material that just gets ugly.

I like the different leaf algaes that just comes from no where, small fish hides in it really looks like a reef in the ocean.plus exports nitrates.lol

I don't mind the algae as long as it's on the back glass. I will clean the long strands and leave short pieces. Gives a place for my pods to hide and for my fish that eats algae. My CUC keeps my sand and rocks cleaned. I don't like it on the sand though.

Lets see some pics of your tank! Algae makes me lose sleep at night.....I wish I could just ignore it but I can't lol. I would love to be able to let it grow :(

Evo 13.5 G, caulerpa brachypus, the invasive one but it is a great nutrient exporter, I "garden" to keep my corals clear and it is great food for my tangs and fox face in the big tank. :)

I used to hate algae. After having Dino’s, I now see normal algae as a good thing, easy to control with manual cleaning and a good clean up crew.

Macro algae I love. Right up there with corals for me. There are just so many varieties and colors...

I love the look of that calurepa with your softies I wish my tank was a bit more mature , well guys let's keep those pics Rollin in I'd love to see everyone's alagae.
