This was one of the first algaes to grow on my new setup (dry macro rock). It’s seems pretty slow to grow. Looks like an macro algae??? Any thoughts? Size of the pieces I pulled were about the size of an eraser head. No CUC will touch it. Kind of like a rubber scale.

Looks a bit like ulva or a lettuce algae to me. Kind of odd to get if you didn't put it in your tank on purpose though.

Where did you get the rock? Are you sure that it was pristine new ? Just curious if was in someone else's tank and then dried. But I agree with the above looks like lettuce algae to me as well

Ulva.

You can pluck it off easily or starve it out. It’s a fast grower and will die off without food (might invite other problems at that pii

My tuxedo urchin eats it. Or wears it as a hat depending on mood.

Tangs treat it like Girl Scout cookies.

I would rather have that than gha. You can manually harvest it once it gets bigger. If your tank is large enough a tang will love it.

Me to! Have three tangs and the don’t seem touch the stuff. Luckily it’s small amount (maybe tangs keeping it at bay) and will manually remove.
