It's there something I can do to help prevent the algae growing on the base of my frags. Tree corals and small polyps. I feel like they will eventually be smothered especially the small polyps

What kind of algae? You can take the piece out and scrub the plug with a brush. It could grow back just like normal algae does on the glass.

Are they on plugs?
If you can still handle them peroxide just up to the coral
Yeah they are on plugs , thanks for the advice ! I wasn't sure if it was okay to be messing with the plugs all the time

It looks to me like some hair algae and your average green algae. Why do I find algae to be a bihher problem in saltwater then any of my freshwater tanks

Well in most freshwater tank there is a wider availability of plant life that is used to help compete with the consumption of excess nutrients. In saltwater we don't have these options besides cheato that we use in out sumps. So this allows algea to grow more in our tanks.
