Algae on frags and plugs

I take a toothbrush to the plugs themselves. Sometimes I'll place astraea snails directly on the flat tiles if it's thick.
I believe once you get hair algae, it will come back even if you think you've killed it. I'll follow along to see if anyone has a good idea :)

peroxid so far is what ive found to be the most effective. still looking though.
Some corals dont like it, as with many dips. I use a 10 to 1 ratio for a dip you can also use that on the tooth brush. ive used undiluted on spots with a qtip on the plug and then rinsed in tank water.
ive found it best to use smaller repeated treatments spaced out over weeks to be most effective.

Thanks for both replies. Definitely like dip solution on top of brushing since a lot of times algae seems to be on skeleton of coral in addition to plug. I've tried polyp lab reef shot which worked ok but at $16 a dose is pricey.
