I set up a new saltwater tank about 8 weeks ago. Been testing all water perimeters. Has completely cycled as of 2 weeks ago. Added 2 small damssels and 2 small hermit crabs. Today I notices a brown looking algae on my glass. Whats up with this?

Perfectly normal to have algae on the glass.....seems I clean mine at least 3 times a week if not more.
Get yourself some cleaning magnets

Welcome to the joys of reefkeeping. Also if it is glass you will also need a razor blade scrapper to get the hard stuff off.

It's crazy how a couple of you say it comes off with ease and just one person mentioned you might need a razor blade for the hard brown stuff. I have that brown algae as well its so tedious to clean and the magnet scrapers maybe get 60 percent off, the rest is perpetually stuck there unless you use something like a razor blade that was mentioned. Either way, I feel your pain, it sucks

This is very normal and you will be cleaning the glass from once a week to several times, every ones tank is different.
