Algae only occurring in lower part of tank

As the title suggests, I have hair algae that mainly in the lower third of my tank. It is present but scattered in the top two thirds, but in my bottom third it is all over the rocks. Have two D120s and a 150w 12000k halide. Does anyone have a theory as to why is would happen? The flow is roughly the same in the upper and bottom half, the bottom might be slightly less though. Running Phosguard and will start running carbon again.

Algae growing in our tank is on the sand bed & the cause is the sun light coming in from the window; My parameters are good and I don't overfeed.

I am going to block out the sunlight, even if it is indirect. I've always had algae, but this hair algae refuses to die.

do you have any herbivores in your tank? They could be eating other hair algae and just not eating in that spot, also try turkey basting your live rock you might have some built up nutrients in that par of your rock and the algae is using it up.

I'll see if I can get power head to fix the problem. Will all report back soon.

First scrub off the gh and see If it grows back after you adjust your flow

Growth has stopped since introduced the additional flow. I'm going to add another WP25. I dont like the powerhead I'm currently using.

I think the direct and/or indirect sunlight could be the source of the GHA... Had a similar problem myself, and pulling the shades down was the solution... Now removing what is present in going to be the bigger problem.. Id get a crew of ceriths and nerite snails..
