I've been battling this purple algae stuff growing on my sand in my 40gallon tank for the past 2-3 weeks. I'm doing regular water changes but recently brought in turbo snails about a month ago which has purple coral line growing on it. I don't think it's coral line but what other kind of algae can this be?

I tried to siphon as much of it out as I can when I do water changes but it just keep spreading more and more. I got hermit crabs and sand sifting starfish to see if it could help couple of days ago. Any other suggestions to get rid of this purple monster? Lol

If it helps .... Ive had the tank running for about 9 months with 2 clowns, Valentini puffer and yellowtail damsel

It's cyanobacteria. About the only things I know will eat it are conchs and cerith snails. And keep vacuuming out as much as you can.
