Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me identify this algae. If it’s Coralline, great I can leave it be. Everything I’ve read it goes from neon green to purple over time.

I didn’t even notice the neon green appearance until I set my lights to bright white. I feel the rocks and they don’t feel slime, but more like the rock.

I upgraded my tank recently and the neon green rocks are all new rocks. I am dosing purple up everyday. Running carbon/Gfo reactor. All of my tests are reading 0 as far as nitrates, nitrites, phosphates, ammonium. Light are REEFLED90 x 2. Mp40 powerhead, 150-S skimmer, using filter floss in the cups.

I have had the upgraded tank for about 2 months. Before I put any corals in I just want to make sure nothing is going to get out of hand.

thanks!

That green is algae. Best way to tell.. does it brush off easily? If yes, Algae. Coraline won’t just brush off.

I think that is the start of coralline. If it brushes off easily or can be blown off then no, but if it’s hard then yes I think it is the start of coralline.
