Hey all,
So my 120g tank has been up and running for 6 months now and over the past few days started to see this algae and suctioned it out but now it’s getting completely out of control.
Water parameters:
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 35-40 (Ik high)
Phosphate .08-.1
Alk 8.2

Lighting: Reef breeders photon v2 with 8 hour peak lighting schedule.

What type of Algae is this, and how do I go about controlling it? Been doing weekly 20% water changes to try and drop nitrates not working gonna have to do a bigger water change.

Not 100% sure but it looks like dinoflagellates. If it indeed is then you can use a product called dino X or you can put a uv sterilizer in your sump or rear chambers and run it for 24hrs for a week or two. This will also clear up the dinos and keep them at Bay.

Still have this algae outbreak not as bad been suctioning it out every day but it comes back a few hours later...
