Algae outbreak

I recently added a gyre to my tank and it pushed the sand bed around some. I've also been feeding Coral more.. Anyway my tank is about 11 months old now. Nutrients generally low. I had some red Brown color stringy algae begin growing on the sand bed. Now it's getting on my rock. Seems to be spreading quite rapidly. What is it and how do I make it go away?

Its hard to tell from the picture, but it looks and sounds like Dinoflagellates.

What are you PO4 levels, and are you running GFO?

Oh my. That would suck. I last checked PO4 about 4 days ago. It was .03 PPM.

o.3ppm should be fine.
You aren't running anything to lower PO4 or NO3 are you? And what is your NO3?

I am not using anything to lower po4. It's been a long time since I tested no3. I'll test in an hour or two and post my results.

Just an update. I performed a couple of of 20% water changes over the past few weeks in which I sucked as much of that crap as I could out. I also drove my PO4 up to .08ppm. After the second round of removal it never really came back. PO4 is currently at .04ppm
