ALGAE OUTBREAK

Hello all! My tank has recently been growing algae like nobodies business. I was running Vibrant then my Hammers Torches and other corals started to receed.. I spoke to my Lfs and they recommended Fluconazole.. I am seeing I little improvement over a 1 week period. They heavy turf algae is dying but I am still getting alot of film algae.. During the Fluconazole treatment I was told not to run Uv althought my Uv was not as effective as I thought it would be overall. I was thinking about doing a black out on the tank. Any Thoughts?

How old is your tank? Water parameters? Try to get as much out as you can and throw the algae out. This might help. I will link a really useful website that I resorted to when my tank did this.

The tank is approx 4 months old and parameters are pretty stable I am starting to see my first few specs of Coraline algae its growing on the Wav makers and over flow box.

Nitrates- < 1.0 ppm
Phosphate <0.1ppm
Temp 78.0 * Apex
Ph 7.6

Well, I've tried removing algae from my tank using a 3% Hydrogen Peroxide and a sponge. I've cleaned the glass using the sponge, and some of the algae debris will float in the water but it will soon be filtered. So far, it doesn't do any harm to my fish. But be sure to do it in moderation too.

The Fluconazole treatment is working wonders. Literally overnight 95% of my algae is gone off of the rocks water is crystal clear I will post before and after pics on here very soon.
