Hey Y'all! I'm new to the R2R community. So far it's been awesome to read up and learn more about aquariums. I had a quick question. So I recently cleaned this aquarium out and filled it back up with water about a week ago and suddenly there is weird algae growing all over the gravel. I can't figure out what time it is though. can anyone identify it and let me know if its harmful to my fish? Also what would be the easiest way to get rid of it. Thank you so much!

Is there any inverts that would eat it or do i manually need to remove it?
Keep blowing it off. You can get some sand cleaning snails. But it’s pretty common in newer tanks. Lots of available fish waste and not a lot of competition.

Nope. Not as all. Just the ugly phase. Blow it off , check flow, stir the sand there a bit.
Regular water change, maybe add some bottled bacteria.

If it hangs on then you can up the game.

Thank you! And no currently i've had saltwater aquariums for about 6 years now. I have a 250 gallon with my blue dot ray who i've had for 3.5 years and I also have a 12 gallon fluval edge tank that has my pair of clowns in it.
