Hi! I am new here and am hoping you all can help me. I got a 90 gallon reef ready aquarium, stand and sand and rock from someone on craigslist several months ago. The sand and rock were wet necause he had kept them in totes with pumps for me until i came to get them. I st up the tank and stand and added the sand and rock and water the next day and shortly after some purplish pink slime started to grow. I have 3 large pumps and a hob protein skimmer running on it and the algae is crazy. Any sughestions how to control it? I have a sump but do not want to hook it up yet because that would just be more to clean later and i dont have any live stock. Please help me

Yup.

Test your parameters too. That'll help.

You say you have a sump I would set it up with a better skimmer hob skimmers are not usually very effective
