So...I used to use a set of mag-float cleaners, plus an algae pad for the tougher stuff. After I noticed a few micro scratches, I took the magnets out - blaming the magfloats... Now, even more micro scratches are appearing, and I 100% know its from the algae pad.

Huge bummer for me, but to keep from doing any more damage, now I am asking R2R... What do all of you use that leaves no scratches?

Thanks!

I use acrylic pads on my mag float and never get near the sand while using it. I also take it out of the tank when not using it and clean it good under the sink. I use a stick scraper that holds plastic cards down at the bottom next to the sand.

I try and limit placing my hands into the tank as much as possible.
