I've been having a few problems with algae and I'd really like to fix them. I have what looks like a cyano on the sand of part of my aquarium. Plus some other algae growing up on one of my rocks. I have a good filtration system (fuge, sump, UV, skimmer, etc). Everything else about the tank is great, the fish are happy and the corals are growing great (except for one, stated at the bottom). I replaced my media just last month or so, so I don't think it is that, but I'm going to replace a bit of it today anyways.
Here are my suggested solutions, please correct me if I am wrong:
- Better clean up crew, I only have hermits at the moment, I had a turbo snail, but got some new frags and he always knocks those down, he is chilling in my fuge now; maybe some margarita snails? My problem is that my pistol shrimp is semi-aggressive and hates inverts going in his burrow (which encompasses the entire underside of all my rock structures, which he has connected) and (I think) has killed snails before
- More flow, its a 29 G biocube and I have the stock pump plus a Current USA wavemaker, I've ordered another Current USA wavemaker and it should be here tomorrow

Hopefully this fixes the problem, but I'd like to be prepared if it doesn't. On a related note one of my zoas is producing some weird slime, it has a definite form but when I moved the zoa it came off, is it a stress thing?

Oh and my current cleaning crew is:
- 3 hermits (maybe four I've lost track)
- 1 Peppermint shrimp (maybe two I haven't seen the other in a week though)
- 1 Emerald crab
- Pistol shrimp (best cleaner I have, he has been slacking but he used to never let algae grow on my floor, he has a little farm of macro he grows, but he has left the cyano alone)
