Hi I'm having some algae problems in my Zoa frag tank and I'm looking for suggestions as to what it is and how to beat it.

I have encrusted algae between the polyps and I have this stuff on my sans bed also.

Any ideas?

If you are within the US you can send a sample my way for identification if you dont have a microscope.

I have brown algae in my tank that I can't get rid of. I have been using chemiclean in and it goes away. After doing a water change it comes back.. any ideas would be appreciated.
I have a 110 gallon tall tank, a sump with sock filter and a UV light. The algae only appears only on the sand.

That is cyanobacteria
It may be spirulina but can not be conclusive by looking.
I would recommend this to start if no scopes are available.
