Algae Problem

Hey Guys I need some help with an algae problem! One of my customers are having a problem with one of their hard corals. There is algae on it and it keeps growing and I am just wondering what everyone else does to rid of the algae off the coral. The only thing I can think of is blowing water on it with a pipet. But I know there are other ways! Please Leave Feedback! Thank you!

If algae is growing on a coral there are probably larger problems with water chemistry, yes??

But a hydrogen peroxide dip might be a good step. It should kill the algae and not hurt the coral. 10-1 ratio, hopefully others will comment on the h202 dip idea.

Revive, iodine , coral RX, diluted peroxide are all good choices.

That coral is not a all heathy I think.

Algae will usually grow everywhere but on a healthy coral. I agree with the reefers here that you need to help them with their water chemistry. It appears that the coral is dying.

50/50 dip hydrogen 3% and tank water 1 min will kill algae.

Agreed. That specimen is completely bleached and dying, that's why it has algae growing on it. Once dipped, they can try placing in low light and feeding it to see if it reacts and recovers, but I would suggest they keep a very close eye on it and be prepared to pull it out if they don't see positive results.
