I have an orange rust looking algae in my tank and it glows red when my blues for night are on I don't know what it is

The fluorescent one is the same heaping to me

That's what it looks like with whites

Well from that thread:

"I wonder if this algae/bacteria had been responsible. Maybe a type of cyano/dinoflagellates"

So it should go away. Maybe so a couple 15-20% water changes over the next week and see if it helps it go away.

I don't feed heavy I'm gone most the time I feed maybe every 2 to 3 days and lighting has been dialed back did a 20% water change 3 days ago

How old is your tank?

Algae is caused from light, food, temperature or a combination of the three. So water change and monitor and if your tank is new its just part of the process of your tank establishing so nothing to worry about.

It just looks nasty and I'm cleaning my glass every day cause it's a thick layer

What is your light schedule ? Also what are your nitrates and phosphate? Cleaning the glass daily sounds like excess nutrients in your water

New tank syndrome. Things like this stop happening the closer you get to the two year mark. There's nothing you can really do to prevent it without hurting your corals. Happy Reefing :)
