I have recently increased my feeding in my tank and added a refugium this week. I have started to see algae growing on the rock, but was wondering if this amount should make me worry or if this is just normal I run my lights from 830-830 with an hour ramp time. Here is the tank.

Totally normal

You got a bit there but nothing out of the ordinary.
A couple of mexican turbos will clean that up if you wish.
Keep your N and P as low as possible.
It will diminish as tank matures.

Personally I would reduce your light hours a bit. I do 11:00am-10:00pm, with an hour ramp up. I like to see my fish when I get home and not have the lights off. I work 12 hour days so it gives me a few hours to see them.

Just so you know this is my tank sand that gets morning sun. Taken with iPhone 6s before the tank lights are on.

Yeah, you always want to try and put your tank where it wont get indirect light. Is your tank fairly new? It's pretty normal to get algae when its in the first six months.

Its about 2 1/2 years old. This is actually a green cyano. Blooms real green each morning for a few months in the summer, when the sun is just right. I think its pretty kewl looking in the mornings

Thank y’all for the replies just wanted to make sure it wasn’t too too out of control. Don’t wanna create a problem that I have to deal with later. It’s a new tank setup in February so hopefully taht goes down. I’ll try reducing my lighting down a couple hours and see how that does. Thanks!!

Also how do I keep my nitrates and phosphates down. Is there products I should dose or is it just water changes?

Just water changes with RODI water. Plain tap water can have nutrients. Try not to feed too much. Fish are always hungry and will come begging every time you walk by the tank.

I try not to dose my tank with anything.
