Hi Guys and Gals.
So around 4 week ago i had a Phosphate and nitrate spike in my tank (5 Month old) and it caused some hair Algae. For the past 3 week i have had my Phosphate showing 0 and my Nitrate down to 1. My question is how long should it take for the hair algae to start to go once my parameters were made correct.

Thank you very much.

I have the same issue. Hair algae. And was advised that the phosphate and nitrate reading being low is because of the hair algae removing them.
I started dosing vibrant yesterday. Hopefully, in 2 months it would be gone...

Manually remove/siphon out, check NO3 and PO4 are in range, lessen feeding, shorten light intervals, add CUC if you don’t have and a tang or 2 depending on tank size and lawnmower blenny. Be patient. Will take time to eradicate.

I would take hair algae over dynos any day of the week
Dino’s are discussed controversial. But also my believe is that it is triggered by low nutrients. Indeed after toxic Dino’s I went into algae farming for months.
I do understand that bryopsis and LHA have many a tank owner ready to leave the hobby. If it’s that bad, Fluconazole has been used successfully. It’s not a cure in the long run though.

Yes the trouble was that i had high readings as well as the Algae, now i have 0 on the phosphate.

I also bought seachem phosphate since my LFS ran out of brightwell phosphate.
Been dosing that cause I don't want dino cause of the 0 phosphate

Yeah even though the Test says 0, as you said before some of the Algae will be eating some of that Phosphate up, so I don’t believe i have full 0
