As the title states I’m new to having an algae reactor. Ive had it for 4 days and I’ve run the lights 24/7. I’m building a little bit of algae directly under where the leds are located outside the reactor. So I’m wondering if this is normal and any suggestions on how long to leave the lights on

Depended on your nutrient load, it's best to run your reactor lights opposite of your display tank lights for 12 to 16 hours.

When I was setting mine up I was told in another forum devoted only to ATS that you can run it for up to 18 hours a day. If you notice your nutrients depleting too aggressively you can decrease the amount of time. Also was recommended to have it running while tank lights are off to help keep PH more stable.
