I have a algae scrubber and a refugium and my phosphate still stays between.05-1.0 unluess I do weekly 20% wc. Is the algae in theory supposed to help eliminate some fast food or is it pretty much just the nitrate ? Thanks for your time

Yes they do use some phosphate in photosynthesis.

.05 to 1.0? That's a huge range! Is that correct? Do you run GFO in addition to the fuge and scrubber? I ask because I just ordered a scrubber and taking my fuge offline, but I currently run GFO to keep my phosphates below .1

When I run GFO I can keep around .03-.05. But I take offline sometimes to see if it will maintain and goes up to 1.0 then I put GFO online.
