Hey everyone, got a few questions, I am in the middle of testing my water now with all Red sea pro test kits and will publish my findings, however I know they are good because I test 3 times a week. I am really heavy into this( to the point my woman is always like what the heck)

Anyways, I have algae everywhere, about a month ago I was testing with a hydrometer and screwed up my salinity, bought a refractometer and have it under wraps. Along with that it pushed my alk, mag, and Ca through the roof. All is good now but I am having massive algae problems, every day the glass is covered and I think I have corals closing because of it.

Just noticed the mating dance from my bangii now errr to much going on "why right now can't you hold your eggs in for a couple more days!"

Tank is 46 gal, lots of cleaners 25 I think
Off the back skimmer (octo)
Hydor 406 canister
Over the past week and a half canister and skimmer have been fully scrubed and cleaned
Parameters to follow in 20 min

Algae? Or cyano?

proper identification via microscope would confirm what they are for sure and i hope i'm mistaken but they look a lot like dinoflagellets to me.
do they recede at night and get nastier as the photoperiod goes on? any loss of inverts?

Blow it off with a turkey baster, clean the sand also with the turkey baster. Use some carbon, monitor, rinse repeat. If it gets really bad look at nutrient export methods. But some algae goes in a cycle while you're getting things in check.

Ya I have been hitting the sand with a siphon, on the regular, chasing it off the rocks with a baster. It does not retract at night

Sounds like cyano, but better pictures will help. Chemiclean works wonders if continuous cleaning and carbon/water changes doesn't resolve it.
