Algae scrubber helped you?

I use an ats and have never had algae in my display. It tends to take out nitrates faster than phos but doesnt matter. No algae in display tank. Think you will find anyone with an ats has no algae in display.

Where’s your nutrients at

I don’t remember my before numbers but I struggled with hair algae and cheato, skimmer, phosphate reactor didn’t help

With my scrubber I’m constantly 2 nitrates and .02-.05 phosphates, all hair algae gone, all cheato died, no longer using skimmer, gfo, and no water changes needed in 2+ years so far

If I spike phosphate to .34 it’s naturally back to .05 in a few days without any work from me

I was constantly battling algae. I don't remember my nutrient numbers before they bottomed out, but after installing a DIY algae scrubber my nutrients have a range Nitrates @ 1.0-2.5(Salifert) and Phosphates @ 0.05- 0.08(Hanna) and, going on 2+ months, my DT is virtually algae free.

Nitrates stay around 10. Phos gets up to .4 then hit with ephsos and back to .1 heavy feeding

Heavy bioload. That said no algae issues ever. Do get cyano from time to time. Dont think anything can stop that.
