Algae scrubber

So i have a algae scrubber that is working great. my question is, what do I do with the algae that I grow? I have been scrapping it off with a razor and throwing it away. I didn’t know if you just collect it in a basket and let it sit in the sump? Let me know.

You are correct in throwing it away to my knowledge, if you want a good algae to keep in your sump I recommend chaeto

If you have tangs, you can attach it to a clip like nori and use it as good instead of throwing it away.
