So now it's up and running for a week starting to show great signs of growth should I take out my chaeto. Also I have a 21/2 inch sand bed in my refugium should I keep the sand or get rid of it?

That's 2 1/2 inches.

Are your nutrients high? If so may want to leave the chaeto until the scrubber matures a little more.

That screen has a few weeks to go before it starts to materially affect nutrients.

Then you can remove the chaeto .... or not remove it, up to you.

Sand bed is really not related. If you have issues with it then remove it; if not, keep it. 2 1/2” probably isn’t doing much.

Nice . How big is your tank. That's a big screen.

Big .... 450. You can check out my build thread on the monster tank page.

I'd let it ride & see who wins out for nutrient export.

What lights are you running

Reef breeds refugium light on the front and a 25-watt bulb full spectrum in the back. Do you think my screen is to big 10× 12 ?

Go to the monster tank 400+ forum here on R2R .... mines the Simon’s 450 thread.

Depends on how many frozen cubes you feed & if your rocks are leaching phos. I think it like 12sq in (doubled sided) per 2 cubes. I had an 8x6 feeding puffers & eels on a 180. .

You really need 660nm deep red lights. I believe its .5w per sq in actual draw at the wall min.

12 sq in, double-sided, per cube/day fed (not 2)

If lit with the appropriate/matching amount of light, then that would be a 10 cube/day screen. However, if your light is less, the capacity of the screen is limited by that factor. It's not just one thing that defines capacity, it's a combination of things (including flow, screen roughness, even distribution of light, etc)
