Help me out guys and gals-

I’m looking at upflow reactors and $400 is hurting my brain for a project box and some lights.

I have an AIO with a 4x4 chamber off the overflow. I’m thinking I can put an airstone in the bottom, a piece of roughed-up mesh diagonally, light it with a a Tunze eco-chic vertically, and cover it with black filter sponge on the top. If it shows promise I’ll add another light.

Am I missing something or should this work? Per the retailer website this would give me the same wattage and surface area as 2 of their largest boxes which is apparently what I need for my tank.

Salt creep from the bubbles is the only thing that jumps out as a problem. Also, trying to figure out what to do with an extra $350 might cause stress?

Lol. It’s already spent ;)

salt creep and the “skimmer effect” are in my mind. It’s in a filter sock compartment so I will just use the filter sock holder + some of that black filter stuff that stop a bubbles over it. Should keep light spill down too.

I have all the parts ready. I’m just waiting to see if the last little bit of Chaeto bounces back with the 2 new submersible Refugium lights.
