So I’m not to much of a fan of my refugium section of my sump. Everything growing and I have tons of pods but I know in the future it might not be able to keep up with bioload, plus I also like to tinker with new things.

I notice that they have the icecap algae scrubbers for a nice price currently and I’m thinking to myself ah what the heck buy one and test it out.

I wanted to get some feedback on them first.

how is the build quality?

do they perform well?

last what size would you recommend for a 370 gallon total volume tank med to heavy bioload without zeroing out nutrients?

I have an Iceacap Medium Scrubber. It works pretty well and grows handfuls and handfuls of algae every few weeks. I would reccomend scuffing up the screen before you set it up, as that lets algae take hold much more quickly. I originally ran only one side of lighting to get it seeded, and later on plugged in the other side of lights. Now there is lots of green hair algae, despite not having any in my display.

For a tank your size, I would definitely suggest the large size. Even if you find your nutrients dropping a bit, you can just feed slightly more and have a healthier system overall IMO.
