Lots of rain and lawn fertilizers running off into the rivers is likely part of the issue. We are wet this year and I figured it was coming....

They say it "could be" climate change.

The second photo with all the seaweed in the article shows a lot of boats.

Maybe it's caused by boats?

(No mention of coastal development in the region, so that's not a factor. Whew!!)
