Hey guys can anyone identify this algae? It’s taking over most of my aquarium!

Jesus thats alot of algae, whip out that toothbrush and start doing them water changes! Check your nutrients ( they might show 0 due to the algae consuming it ).

I’m just wondering what could be causing the nutrients? I don’t have any fish just a couple of hermits and a snail of some sort. I’m not feeding any of the softies either.

It kind of looks like it could be bacterial. How long has it been going on? Any recent changes to the tank? Does it have any color?

If that's all you have then it's probably been bound up in the rocks, or perhaps you had a critter or two die in the tank. It'll be a battle, but an easy one to win if you're persistent with the suggestion that @Marc2952 made above. Each bit of algae you remove, you're also removing the nitrates and phosphates that it used to grow.

The tank has been up for about four months. The only changes have been adding a skimmer from another aquarium and a polyp frag
