My tank seems to have gone south. I’m thinking I need more CUC as I think my numbers have gone down and my algae is growing faster then the CUC can keep up. I also had a drop in nutrients 2 ppm nitrate and 0 ppm phosphate. I think I’m on the up swing now though as I finally have 5 ppm nitrates. Anyway should I remove my zoa garden? How should I clean it?

You could try a cleaning bacteria supplement, like Microbacter Clean or Vibrant.

Could also run some GFO to bring down the nutrient levels, but you need to be careful because it can work -too- well

At the moment I’m trying to raise my nutrient level. All my shrooms and Zoas are not happy when my nutrients dropped...I have not tried any bacteria supplements, will they help increase my nitrates also or just kill off the algae bloom I’ve got going on.

They shouldn't adversely effect anything, I believe they are bacteria strains that specifically target nescience algae

I would soak the rock with the zoas in a 50/50 solution of tank water/hydrogen peroxide for 1 min to remove the algae if you can. It will help get rid of the algae from your zoas.
