Algae Turf Scrubber Off Overflow or Pump

Any thoughts on plumbing a diy overflow off of the overflow line or would it be better having a designated pump?

My Santa Monica Rain 2 runs direct off my overflow manifold which has 2 drains - one to the Rain2, the other into a filter sock

Works perfectly

Save the cost of buying and running an additional pump. I’ve been running my ATS off the drain line for many years. Works just fine.

ATS is kinda hidden behind a bunch of other stuff, so hard to see well ....

Essentially I have my ghost style overflow outfitted with multiple siphons, each with a specific purpose. One feeds the ATS and can adjust flow with a valve as necessary.
