How long has the tank been set up?

Can you post a picture with white lights on?

In the event that it looks “hairy”, it’d be great if you could elaborate how it feels (wiry or soft) and how it grows (matted or as individual strands). In the event that it looks kind of like a film and is brown, check to see if it’s diatoms or Dinoflagellates.

The tank has been running for around an year, the tank was algae free, the algae just started a few weeks back

How does the algae look/feel? Can you describe it? It’s hard to see in the pics. It sounds like bryopsis.
