After ridding my tank of red planera flatworm's, this algae has settled.

Can someone help ID it and best plan of attack?

looks looks cyano or diatoms. lower nutrients or some more snails.

Spirulina can be a option as well here
Test it for Cyano first before you make a plan of attack.

You can check by removing a small sample with approximately 100 MLS tank water add about 3 MLS 3% H2O2 wait about 24 hrs.
If it doesn't change color it's spirulina.

Thanks everyone. Just dosed some h2o2 to see if it helps and I will certainly get a sample out and tested tomorrow.

@Diesel what color would it change to?

Alright, well the color is a dark green / brown and when I blow this off the sand bed it quickly recovers in a stringy fashion.

In the dish with h2o2, it has lightened slightly but the water has not changed color. 3 hours so far.

Added a small amount of chemiclean to the sample and it broke down very quickly.

Looks like I know what I need to do know.

I have used it already in the past do I have experience with it. Thanks for the words of warning though!

Treated with Chemiclean and no change. More photos and a video for your viewing pleasure!

Oh fwiw. Guess what the flatworms were eating.
I'd consider replacing them with snails.

Looks like dinoflagellates. Do you have access to a microscope to confirm?
Unfortunately no microscope to confirm but Tuesday I might have the ability to run my a LFS with a microscope to get a picture.

We're watching.
Did there seem to be any other relief?
How diverse is the CUC?
Esp snails.
Ceriths, hermits, trochus, and nassarius.

Probably need to stock up. Not a huge CUC.
