What all do you have in your tank fish wise and how often do you feed. I have had some issue with algae before and one thing that really helped me was Dr. Foster AlgaeFix for marine. Between that and having a CUC really helped.

I have a mandarin goby, dogface puffer, porcupine puffer, orange file fish , lion fish, couple peppermint shrimp, horseshoe crab, and a couple emerald crabs...and i feed them usually once a day usually frozen brine for all but lion and porcupine they get guppies and an occasional goldfish but aren't in the tank more than 10 seconds haha them 2 are animals wen it comes feeding time!

could be overfeeding. too much light. how old your tank is. is it young? more flow even. check your nitrates. bigger clean up crew..

Is this a 120 gallon tank we're talking about? You're going to have to think about exporting massive amounts of waste feeding those fish. I'm being hesitant in answering. Just a couple questions: Do you use a filter sock?, protein skimmer? How many gallons a week do you change?

Yes it's a 120 n I use filter sock and skimmer 24/7... and about 15 gallons a week

I may have to give that a try i have a refugium as well but not doin much effect right now just got rock, sand, and miracle mud in there gonna eventually get chaeto
