What kind of algae is the green and red looking algae on my rock? Is it good or bad? If it is bad, how do I remove it?

The red is cyano....i believe. The green......hmm, does it come right off?

How hard is it to get the green off.

^^reefing madness

Im guessing you have a new tank set up, you'll need to let the tanks cycle run its course. Then what you need to do is get Nitrtes under 30, Phosphates under .05 and keep an eye on your incoming water TDS, you don't want that reading anything.

It's not really new, it has been up and running for over a year now and everything is is at 0 except nitrates, I need to get my nitrates down I just tested again and they are somewhere between 30 and 40. This algae just appeared a few days ago.

Everything is 0? What are you testing phosphates with?
If it just began, what did you change? Lights? Food? Filter? Something must have changed, just gotta figure out what.

I realized I needed a sump so I put in a sump a few months ago, so I guess that is new.

I got a new fish about a week ago so I might have over fed by accident also.

The green is not bad but you want to remove it it is what you might call a ocean grass lol get a magic eraser and get to work lol
