Algae?

So I have a new tank...1 month old. Cycling and all the parameters are good. A little bit of brown algae on the sand which I turn under periodically. Then I noticed this round jelly like substance (see picture). When I went to scoop it out, it dissolved. Is it a form of Algae?

Could be a sponge. Probably came in on your rock, assuming you used live rock.

Are they good or bad? Should I just leave alone or try to get out?

Sponges are good. I’d leave it but usually you’ll find it on the bottom of rocks. Not sure why yours ended up in the sand
