Hey! I’ve had this nano tank for about 2 months now and it’s starting to grow algae. Is the next step green hair algae? Is this type of algae normal? I know all tanks go through that ugly phase, just want to double check everything is going good!!

Hello Derek,

I have looked at your many other threads. Your tank is doing very well at 4 months. Coralline algae, that’s the good stuff, grows in more colors than pink. It looks like you have two colors of coralline algae on your rock.

A word of caution about hermit crabs, they are voracious opportunist & carnivore. They will wear your snails shells as hats after they consume your snails one by one.

Enjoy the trip.
