Hey y’all I need help quixk! I am not sure what this growth is and all my tank parameters meet good levels. Ammonia nitrite at 0, ph 7.9, salinity 1.025, I have a strong bio load in there from 2 chromis to a YWMG and a clown goby. The past few days I’ve seen an increased white spotty somewhat hairlike? Can this just be the live rock loosing its color?
Thank you in advance

What size tank? What are your Nitrates and Phosphates? These are the nutrients that most often lead to algae.
Is your live rock truly live rock with encrusting coralline? Or a colored dry rock?
How old is the tank?

That can be a thing to consider! Is my live rock just encrusted live rock. I bought 12 lbs of the Caribsea live rock and then I went to lfs and bought 10 lbs of live rock that was in a tank already.

Nitrate are fairly high at around 40-50 ppm. Would you recommend a small water change to hopefully help with the bacteria growth as well as nitrate

Caribsea Life rock is not “live” rock. I is supposed to have some dormant bacteria embedded. This is what I used in my new Angel tank. The rock from the lfs could be live rock if they are providing an ammonia source for the bacteria. Your ammonia levels would lead me to believe that the rock did have an established bacteria.

Hey man just had a fish death in the tank. Did a water change but the Royal gramma died. It’s eyes were cloudy looked like a possible infection prior to me purchasing it. All other fish are eating and look healthy. Any steps I should take before I add another fish?

Many possible causes of cloudy eye. Bacterial can be one. Your original post said, chromis, YWG, and clown goby. How many other fish do you have? Did you just add fish since the thread started?
What are your current parameters.
ammonia, nitrate, ph, temp, and salinity.
Are any other fish showing any signs?

As someone else said, and I was planning to get back to you. You should set up a small QT tank. QT guidelines under the fish disease forum.

Should not be leaching like this and past precipitation.
You stated Zero ammonia/nitrate. What kits are you using? For a new tank, I suspect false readings
